The Scott City R-1 School District will be hosting Kindergarten Enrollment & Screening on March 28th, 2024 for all children who will be attending Kindergarten at Scott City Elementary for the up-coming 2024-2025 school year. To be eligible for Kindergarten Enrollment, children must turn 5 before August 1, 2024. Parents must call the elementary office at 264-2131, option 1, in advance, for an appointment. Please see the Flyer in this post or on our website for the documentation needed at the screening. #SCWeR1

March 4-8 is Read Across America Week and we have a lot of fun activities planned at SCE. Please see the link for our daily dress up themes. We will also be having a Masked Reader EVERY morning at 7:30 in the elementary gym. Please make sure that your child is in the gym at 7:30 every morning next week if they want to hear our Masked Reader read a story. They will then get to try to guess who the Masked Reader is!!! I promise you they won't want to miss this! ***Also, on Friday, March 8 we will be hosting guest readers. If you are interested in being a guest reader, please contact your child's teacher or call the elementary office for available times.

Camp Enterprise was held at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center on Friday, February 23, 2024. Scott City students Adam Haynes-Ryan, Grayson Jaynes, James Schmitt, and William Schumer, attended the seminar that allowed students to explore the world of business through activities and enterprise simulations. Students from surrounding schools met with area business leaders to explore various business careers. Thanks to the area Rotary organizations for hosting the event!

The Rams are pleased to announce that Coach Brian Beaubien will be our next head football coach.
Coach Beau brings a wealth of experience and success as he takes over as the Scott City Rams head football coach. He is a proven coordinator on both sides of the ball and is currently the Defensive Coordinator for Donelson Christian Academy (DCA) in Nashville, TN where he has coached for the last 7 years.

Ann always puts 110% effort into whatever project, speech, or event she is helping with. Ann decided this year to run for regional office and she got elected as Region 6 President! At conventions, Ann is one of the first ones ready to lead spirit chants for her school and FCCLA Region. Ann also recently just received top gold at the regional level in her STAR Event project and is advancing to state! - Mrs. Tharp #SCWeR1

MODOT (Missouri Department of Transportation) came and spoke with the JAG students about employment opportunities and how communication, teamwork and problem solving skills can be used to build bridges. #SCWeR1
