Scott City High School hosted a College and Career Fair on April 5, 2024. Students in grades 9-12 visited thirty-seven businesses, colleges, and military branches. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their knowledge with our students: Arkansas State University, Army, Army - National Guard, Bank of Missouri, Bug Zero, Cape Police Department, Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center, Arnold Insurance, Commerce Bank, Elite Travel, Interior Plus, Juvenile Office, Scott City Police and Fire Department, Lincoln Tech in Nashville, Main Key Realty, Manpower, Mineral Area College, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Welding Institute, Missouri Veterans Home, Mississippi State University, Murray State University, Navy, Orgill, Renaissance Beauty Academy, Procter & Gamble, Scott City Fire and Police Department, Scott County Conservation Agency, Shawnee Community College, Southeast Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Southeast Missouri State University, Southern Illinois University, State Tech, St. Francis Medical Center, Three Rivers College, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Youth Employment Specialist. On March 27 members of the GAS club went to the Sikeston food bank to fill boxes for local food pantries. The students did a spectacular job. We filled 1050 boxes.

To be eligible for Kindergarten Enrollment, children must turn 5 before August 1, 2024. Parents must call the elementary office at 264-2131, option 1, in advance, for an appointment. If you need another form you can download the form and print it from this link: https://5il.co/2ha23 or you can ask your child to bring another one home. If your child does not get their form turned in, they can not view the eclipse with their classmates and will have to stay inside during the event.

The 32nd Annual D.A.R.E Day with the St. Louis Cardinals, Sunday May 5th at 1:15pm! Fans that purchase tickets through the D.A.R.E. order form will receive information about the on field parade to take place before the game. Each ticket costs $18 and includes a hotdog and soda for every ticket holder! This is a great deal AND supports a great cause AND has the added bonus of spending an afternoon in baseball heaven! The Scott City R-1 School District is deeply saddened to announce the passing of longtime former Board of Education Member and President, Scott Amick. Mr. Amick served the Scott City Community on the BOE for over 25 years. He was a fierce supporter and advocate for our school and local community. He will be greatly missed! #SCWeR1
