On Tuesday SCE had an assembly to thank our servicemen and women. Students and staff raised $645 from their Sweat for a Vet challenges. We made banners and thank you cards to show our respect and to thank them for their service. #WeAreSCE #ProudToBeAnAmerican

Elementary students have been constructing Native American structures for STEM lab this month. Students constructed with a variety of materials. A lot of problem solving and fun was had!

Each project from Scott City Middle School has a chance to proceed to the Semi-Finals of the Playoffs in the Community Favorite Category; your vote will determine which project from your school will represent your school in the Community Favorite category for the rest of the postseason.
Playoff voting is open Friday, November 17, at 8:00 a.m. CST → Monday, November 20, at 3:00 p.m. CST
You can vote ONE time for ONE project from each team. The 7th and 8th grade Team and the 5th and 6th grade team.

On Friday, 27 members of GAS and their advisors went to the SEMO food bank in Sikeston and packaged boxes of food for needy senior citizens. The club packaged 1017 boxes.

HS Basketball Jamboree will be held here on Friday, November 17th beginning at 5:30pm. Come on out and catch some basketball and while you're here grab a bowl of chili or chicken noodle soup for dinner! Dinner starts serving at 4:30pm in the Cafeteria. American Enterprise Day is celebrated November 15. This day began when President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation in 1980 to educate young people about capitalism through FBLA.
FBLA members who answered the correct trivia questions and received a prize are: 1st place - Aleah, 2nd place - Liberty, and 3rd place - Alex. Congratulations!
SEMO and SC will partner once again for Scott City Day at SEMO Basketball! You'll receive a Scott City Rams themed SEMO hat with the advanced purchase of a theme ticket. Come on out and pack the stands in Blue and Gold as the Redhawks take on the Western IL Bulldogs on February 3rd at the Show Me Center. Women will begin at 1:30pm with the Men to follow at 3:45pm.

School bus safety is one of the most important jobs we have here at SCR1. Our bus drivers work hard to pick up and deliver your students safely to school and home each day. As a driver, you play a vital role in keeping our students safe. Remember to drive slowly in school zones and near bus stops. Be alert and look for children running to the bus stop, especially when there are no sidewalks. STOP for the flashing red lights of the school bus and the stop sign arm, regardless of which direction you are headed. Remember that bus lights work just like traffic lights. Yellow lights means the bus is slowing down preparing to stop. Red lights and the stop arm mean the bus has stopped to pick up students. If we all do our part, our students will continue to arrive safely at school!

Captain Garrett Kasper (USN) will be our featured guest speaker at the Annual Veterans Day Assembly, sponsored by the Middle School Student Council. This annual event is a wonderful yearly display of our community's patriotism and appreciation for our Veterans service. The event will be held in the High School Gym on Friday, November 10th at 9am. Yesterday Scott City FCCLA members attended the Region 6 Fall Conference at SEMO! Carly Blaylock - Regional President, Zoe Minton - State 1st Vice-President of Elections, and Ann Baker - Regional Reporter worked tremendously hard to plan and organize this event.
