🎓 November High School Student Spotlight: Carlee 🎓
Carlee is the definition of an all-around outstanding student and person. Known for her excellent grades, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness, she is someone who consistently goes out of her way to help others. Whether she’s in the classroom, on the court, or volunteering in the community, Carlee leads with heart and integrity.
Carlee is deeply involved in school activities, taking part in Students of Service, NHS, GAS, FTA, SEEK, STUCO, Science Club, Basketball, Cheer, and Track. She also previously competed in FCCLA her freshman year—where she won state in presentations.
Through Students of Service, Carlee has coached a youth league basketball team for three years (and will continue again this year). She has participated in the youth mentoring program for three years, taken part in the Sweat for a Vet Challenge for four years, and has accumulated 150+ volunteer hours through the organization.
In NHS, Carlee has visited residential housing to sing Christmas carols and deliver gifts to residents. She has also donated blood three times as part of her service.

We want to update our community on a precautionary incident today at Scott City Elementary.
Out of an abundance of caution, we called the Scott City Fire Department to address a reported overheating ceiling heater in an elementary hallway.
We are happy to report there was no fire, and all students are safe. We are immensely thankful for the swift and professional response from our Scott City Emergency crews, who verified the safety of our building. Malfunctions like this can occur during the change of seasons, and we appreciate their dedication to our students' well-being!

Students in grades 8–12 explored future opportunities by connecting with a wide lineup of businesses, colleges, and military branches.
This year’s participants included:
