Scott City FBLA students were treated to doughnuts and fruit this morning for their annual membership drive. Students also signed up for district competition. Pictured are Rustyn and Eli, who welcomed new member Evan to FBLA. Also shown are Macy and Harley (who is holding a get-well card signed by members to send to a former FBLA student from a neighboring school district who is recovering from an automobile accident).

HEALTH PROFESSIONALS DAY Twenty-three Scott City juniors and seniors attended the Health Professionals Day at Southeast Missouri State University today. Professors in the areas of Sport Sciences, Biology, Communication Disorders, Nursing, and Psychology, explained their programs and future job outlook in their fields. Allison, a senior, stated, "Today l learned the steps to giving an IV. First you wash your hands. Then introduce yourself to the patient while putting on your gloves. You explain to them why the doctor ordered the IV. You clean the area before you start, put on the tourniquet, insert the needle in the vein and then remove the needle /J-loop. Finally you tape it down to the skin!" Thanks to Southeast Missouri State University for providing lunch at their Towers Landing cafeteria, t-shirts, and a tour of the campus (including the dorms). We appreciate it!
