Our January Staff Spotlight is Carmen Winders. She is currently the Dean of Students for SC Elementary and has served in that role for the last 6 years. Mrs. Winders has given 41 years to the field of education and we greatly appreciate her service! She will be retiring from SCR1 at the end of the school year. The NHS blood drive scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled.
Junior Lilyan Landis is a pivotal player for the Lady Rams basketball team. On most nights, Landis pours in anywhere from 10 to 20 points for the Lady Rams, despite just being released from her ACL injury only a few days prior to the first home game. Landis is currently restricted to minutes on the floor, but she is incredibly excited to be back on the court leading the pack.
Homecoming coronation has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 23rd, following the Varsity game. Go Rams!

Ramsey Spinks always goes above and beyond with her artwork. This year she will have several pieces being submitted to the SEMO high school art show. She has always demonstrated her talent in art from seventh grade until now.
Zydric Veal is a committed member of the brand new eSports program, someone who consistently shows up to meetings ready to work. He is a great team player, always has a positive attitude, and he has been working hard to help recruit other high schoolers to join!
Little Cheerleaders is back for basketball season. They will be performing during halftime of the varsity boys BB game on Tue. Jan. 23. This camp is offered to any student in grades K-6 and is a great way to support our high school cheerleading program. Flyers will be coming home with students this week. The Scott City Rams Boy's Basketball team will be playing St. Paul Lutheran Giants on February 14th at the Memphis Grizzlies arena in Memphis, TN. Fans who purchase from the QR code in the flyer below will be able to watch the Varsity game AND the Grizzlies vs Rockets game later that evening.
